Blue Lions honor fallen firefighters

Mike Skaggs, WCHCS Director of Operations, throws ceremonial first pitch

Last night’s softball game was bigger than the competition on the field, as the Blue Lions celebrated local first responders and paid tribute to the late Fire Chief Ralph Stegbauer and Fire Captain Jeff Skaggs, of the Concord Green Fire Department.

Last night, to honor their loved ones, the ceremonial first pitches were thrown by Mike Skaggs, our Director of Operations and brother to Jeff Skaggs, as well as Eric Stegbauer, assistant coach of McClain and son of Ralph Stegbauer. The pitch was caught by Liv Stegbauer, granddaughter of the Fire Chief.

The Blue Lion Family is thankful for our local heroes and continues to hold the Skaggs, Stegbauer, and Concord Green families in our hearts.
