Meghan Griffith named WMS Principal

Congratulations, Ms. Meghan Griffith, on being named Principal of Washington Middle School!

Effective immediately, Ms. Griffith will serve as the as Principal of Washington Middle School for the remainder of this school year and the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Having served as Assistant Principal at the middle school since August of 2023, Ms. Griffith brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

Prior to her role as assistant principal, she spent 18 years as a teacher, with seven of these as an intervention specialist at WMS. Additionally, Ms. Griffith served four years as a school improvement consultant, focusing on educator evaluations. With three master's degrees in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, and Special Education, Ms. Griffith is well-prepared for her new role.
During her tenure as Assistant Principal, Ms. Griffith has demonstrated her ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and families, effectively manage student behaviors, and support staff with clear expectations and structures.
