Welcome, my name is Shannon Bartruff. I am a 1998 graduate of Washington HS. I played baseball, basketball and football here at WHS. I then attended and graduated from Otterbein University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. After graduation I began a career in sales, but quickly felt the urge to get into education. I received my teaching licensure through Antioch McGregor University in Yellow Springs, OH.
I am beginning my 11th year here at WHS. My classes include: General Business, Accounting I, II and a NEW course that I'm excited about 21st Century Skills and Business Experience. This course will allow students to gain skills that will help them in today's world of business and obtain employment. I truly enjoy my interaction with the student body. As much as the content that I teach daily, I try to stress the Attitude and Effort with which our students attack life. I truly believe that Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond. This mentality carries forward in all walks of life.
I am also entering my 16th year of coaching here at WHS. My first 6 years coaching I was involved with football, basketball and baseball. Over the past 8 years I have become the Head Boys Varsity Golf and Varsity Basketball coach. Coaching is a big part of my life and is an extension of my classroom. I hope to teach life lessons that will help in some small way in our student-athlete's lives.
It's my hope that this webpage will keep parents and students up-to-date and more informed about the daily/ weekly/ monthly happenings in my classroom and at WHS.
If you ever have an issue that needs brought to my attention, feel free to email me at [email protected] or call the high school main office (740-636-4211) and ask for me there. GoBlue!
