GERMAN I - Grades 9 - 12. This course is designed to give any beginning foreign language student a fundamental background in basic German grammar and communication skills. Fundamental in the German language are established through visual and audible aids. Speaking and writing activities follow the introduction of aids to assess student progress. Topics in the classroom include: food, school, home, family, numbers, the alphabet, etc. Students must earn a "C" or higher in order to take German II or have permission from the instructor. 2 hour block - 1 semester - 1 credit.GERMAN II - Grade 10 - 12. German II expands on all topics introduced in German I with additional vocabulary, grammatical topics and applications. Students are exposed to more German within the classroom, expanding all language skills. Anyone wishing to continue in German must earn a "C" of higher in order to take German III. Prerequisite: "C" or higher in German I or have permission from the instructor. 2 hour block - 1 semester - 1 credit.
GERMAN III - Grade 11 - 12. German III builds upon all fundamentals introduced introduced in German I & II enabling students to complete advanced reading and translation of the German language. Prerequisite: "C" or higher in German II or have permission from the instructor. 2 hour block - 1 semester - 1 credit.
GERMAN IV - Grade 12. German IV requires students to complete projects aimed at applying skills taught in German III. It is less book-oriented and focuses more on applications of the language. Furthermore, students are exposed to different cultural themes in German, offering a broad overview of current issues in Germany. Prerequisite: "C" or higher in German III. 1 hour block - 1 semester - ½ credit.
SPANISH I - Grade 9 - 12. This course is designed to give the beginning foreign language student a fundamental background in basic Spanish grammar and communication skills. Students must receive a "C" of above in order to take Spanish II. 2 hour block - 1 semester - 1 credit.
SPANISH II - Grade 10 - 12. This course is designed to give the beginning foreign language student a fundamental background in basic Spanish grammar and communication skills. Students must receive a "C" or above to take Spanish III. Prerequisite: "C" or above in Spanish I. 1 hour block - 2 semesters - 1 credit.
SPANISH III - Grade 11 - 12. This course is designed to give the beginning foreign language student a fundamental background in basic Spanish grammar and communication skills. Prerequisite: "C" or above in Spanish II. 1 hour block - 2 semesters - 1 credit.
SPANISH IV (Hispanic Civilization) - Grade 12. This course is a continuation of Spanish III. this course is a study of the literature, history, cultures, and current happenings of the Spanish speaking world. Prerequisite: “B” or above in Spanish III or the permission of the instructor. 1 hour block - 1 semester - ½ credit.
