E-Commerce Marketing blends business and marketing skills/concepts with technology.  E-Commerce is growing at an astounding rate, and there is an overwhelming need for skilled workers in this new field.  Students enrolling in the E-Commerce Marketing program are expected to take a college preparatory curriculum.

E-Commerce Marketing at Washington Senior High School is an approved Tech-prep program in the State of Ohio.  This provides a curriculum that links secondary and post-secondary schools.  The competencies covered in this curriculum represent an industry-validated set of competencies for workers in an e-commerce marketing setting.  Articulation agreements are available with several post-secondary institutions in order to provide college credit for students who successfully complete all requirements.

Students training in this area will have the skills and knowledge to develop and implement e-commerce marketing activities for businesses conducting transactions in an online environment.  This will represent a rigorous marketing program where students will acquire specific skills that are unique to e-commerce.

Technical skills and knowledge include, but are not limited to: digital design, e-commerce site design, marketing management, Customer Relationship Management, market research, promotion, online customer behavior, branding, data mining and warehousing, product mix, business management, pricing, supply chain management, security/privacy issues, electronic data interchange, and global commerce/international e-commerce.  Students completing a post-secondary program in E-Commerce Marketing will have the skills necessary for positions on e-commerce/e-business teams in large companies as well as e-commerce specialists for small businesses.
